Footprint have secured the freehold sale of Two Gates Works in Darwen  Lancashire for the owners Harris & Sheldon Group. Michael Miller, Managing Director of the Group that includes Hardy & Greys fishing tackle manufacturers and suppliers of high quality country clothing and fishing

The industrial complex, on a badly contaminated site of over 8 acres, will be  redeveloped by Fairclough Homes in conjunction with an adjoining site of 7 acres that formerly housed the infamous Two Gates council estate.”

Long Causeway, Topp Street, Farnworth, Bolton, Lancashire

Footprint advised in the sale of this former Victorian Mill complex to Miller Homes. The site extended to 1.30 hectares (3.14 acres) and was sold with the benefit of detailed planning consent for 66 apartments and town houses.

The sale, which completed in April 2006, ends an involvement by Footprint in the site dating back to November 2004. The former site owners Valentine Homes comment that, 

“Footprint were originally involved in the valuation of the scheme at the time we  

acquired the site. It was not an easy transaction due to specific issues relating to 

access and ground conditions. We were pleased at the outcome and thank Footprint for the effort that they put in to ensure that the sale completed in line with the agreed timescale.”
